What is Nectar AI?

Nectar AI is an adult AI companion app, around since 2023, where every character is generated by AI and no real person answers. You confirm you are 18 or over on arrival, then sign up for free. The app is organised around a character creator: you decide what the companion looks like, how it behaves and what its backstory is, and you can then chat with that character as well as with the ones already in the app. Conversations are not limited to text: the app generates images and videos of your companions, sends voice messages and supports voice calls. Two formats go further than a single chat. Group chats bring several companions into the same conversation, and "Fantasies" are prepared stories with a setting and a part for you to play. Nectar describes the chat as roleplay where you tune each persona's tone, style and lore, and says the personas you build are saved so you can pick them up again in a later session. Images are generated from a text prompt, and its Companion Video feature produces short clips of a saved companion with the same look. To keep a character consistent you can upload a reference, a photo or a moodboard: on a faceless setup, use an AI-generated image or an illustration, never a picture of yourself or of a real person. Scenario templates and prompt packs help you start a story, and chats, images and clips can be saved and exported. Memory, as Nectar describes it, holds context within a session; it does not promise that the app remembers earlier sessions. According to Nectar, sessions are encrypted and you get controls over your data; we have not audited that claim. Paid features run on credits, the app's own currency.
